La Grande


With the completion of Ben Brown's home on the trail taken by many of the emigrant trains moving westward, it is not surprising that a commercial settlement grew up in what is now known as the "Old Town" of La Grande and h
ome of Eastern Oregon University.  La Grande now has a population of 12,000 plus people. The community is friendly, casual, and has its own brand of sophistication.

Union

Elgin is located in a friendly valley in Union County surrounded by big pine trees in the mountain wilderness, meadows in the foothills and farm fields in the low lands.  There is a population of around 1,680. The city is a small town, with fascinating people, classic houses, and historical buildings. Elgin is relatively isolated and has maintained a true small-town feel which is hard to find today.
