Our Beautiful City Parks Riverside Park is a community favorite with its large expanses of soft green grass.... This gazebo is a perfect quiet spot for lunches or just sitting in the shade with a friend or two... Large play equipment for older children. Here is some newer play equipment for younger children at Riverside Park. The Grande Ronde River gives Riverside Park its name. In the summertime, this is a favorite cooling off spot! This large covered area is used for everything from birthday parties to wedding receptions. There is a large fireplace on one end and a large kitchen area for catering events. This Skate Park is a recently finished community project where anyone can come and skateboard, rollerblade or ride bikes. Candy Cane Park Here is the merry-go-round, a picnic and barbeque area, plus some shade. Plenty of green grass for soccer, little league games or just rolling around in the soft grass! Veteran's Memorial Pool This is an indoor pool with an outside area for children with water toys. This is the shallow children's area with toys. There are several baseball diamonds at Pioneer Park against a beautiful mountain backdrop. Behind this baseball diamond is a concession stand. Here is the playground at Pioneer Park. As you can see, the Veteran's Memorial Pool is right there at the park! This is the Bi Centennial Park. This smaller park is a favorite place for quiet lunches. You can enjoy a little bit of history here..... This little grove of trees surrounds a plaque sharing some history about the Oregon Trail. These artistic pillars were created by a local artist and impart some history about The Oregon Trail. Take a short walk down this path and learn about the pioneers of The Oregon Trail and a little bit about the history of La Grande.
